Appropriate Galvanism – a poem

Frozen patterns evoking little more

Than a reaction automatic, galvanised

By appropriate pressures and touches

Upon nerves rusted from signals flitting,

Floating, burning for all time down.

The time has come, new meaning arrived

To infuse those old ways, unquestioned

For so long, with better suited themes,

Longing become sweetly realised beside

That slow horror and sweeping it aside.
