Two Heroes – a poem


Two heroes, both with proven successes

Paved with piled high mounds of corpses:

One dark, one light, the former virtuous,

The latter ruinous of all lives it mayst



Mountains of dead bodies, sacrifices all,

The young cruelly caught in the gears

Of fate churning, the cosmic greats

Bracketing these players in upon a field



What meets the eye may not always agree

With the heart’s touch, secret lakes risen

To the fore late and roiling, so many lives

Lived to begin a tale of this struggle…

So early begun…
