Two Heroes – a poem

***

Two heroes, both with proven successes

Paved with piled high mounds of corpses:

One dark, one light, the former virtuous,

The latter ruinous of all lives it mayst

Touch.

*

Mountains of dead bodies, sacrifices all,

The young cruelly caught in the gears

Of fate churning, the cosmic greats

Bracketing these players in upon a field

Ambiguous.

*

What meets the eye may not always agree

With the heart’s touch, secret lakes risen

To the fore late and roiling, so many lives

Lived to begin a tale of this struggle…

So early begun…
