Whispers from a Cracked Sun – a poem

Resonating, a crystal tinkle crashes,

As of some grand tactical nuclear hammer

Striking glass finer than ethereal pearldust,

A crescendo of outward explosion,

A tracery at impact point, spiderweb cracks spread, whispering.

*

The sun’s pane is cracked, orbit shifted,

The stellar bodies pop out of lock

With every minor movement, discord

Like central nervous system signal

Spikes, jumping, twisting to their own tune,

Grooving to the countdown of their own doom;

A silent clamour.
